Nutrition and sleep
Just like us, children who are more than 3 months need to start learning about closing of the digestive system at night and wake up to have breakfast every day at the same time. Young children tend to sleep while eating. Where the nutrition process consumes their energy which makes them tired. Also full stomach makes the child feel sleepy too.
You can start separating between nutrition and sleeping starting from the age of three months in case you are breastfeeding naturally. Try to give your child his last meal in the early evening or at the beginning of the bedtime routine. In case of artificial feeding, you can reduce the amount of the meal gradually through his last meal and add this amount to other meals during the day. At the same time, your child can begin to learn sleep-related behaviors, such as getting a bath, wearing pajamas and listening to a story before he is left awake to enjoy the childish atmosphere around him like dim lighting, toys and decorations. The stability of such procedures also means that he will be able to continue to sleep alone in case he wakes up during the night.
